Dec 2011

A good start to the year

Getting 2012 of to a great start and it’s not even here yet. Just had this image published in the January issue of Photography Monthly

It’s another image taken on the return from the ‘school run’ in early December 2010 at around 9:30 am. The location is at the weir just past Langdale Timeshare and the sun was just starting to burn it’s way through the trees. Unlike most snowfall which rapidly melts away the conditions remained very cold and still and the snow stayed on the trees for a couple of days. I remember the temperature indicator on the car showed minus 12º that morning.

The changeable weather we’re experiencing at the moment makes chasing the light a hit and miss affair. This morning was a hit and the overnight snow and clear morning light made for some great reflections. Taken near Elterwater on the way back from the school run.
