Photo walks in popular Lakeland locations.
Walking the walk and talking the talk.
Have you ever wondered why the pictures you took of that wonderful view just don't seem the same when you look at them back home? Do you feel your photography skills have reached a point and you ca't go any further? Perhaps you wonder what all those function buttons on the camera do? These and many other questions could be answered for you on one of my inspiring photo walks in beautiful Lakeland locations.
It doesn't matter what sort of camera you own, compact or DSLR, the emphasis of these photo walk is to take you to places where you will be able to make better pictures. Along the way I'll be giving help and guidance and of course helping you to give your images some TLC. In photographic terms that's Timing, Location and Composition. Together we'll learn a few simple techniques that will take your landscape photography to the next level. There isn't a formal structure to the walk, we take it as it comes and although the routes are generally the same, each walk is always different. I'll cover the basics of making images that Pop, help you avoid simple mistakes and de-mystify the complexities of your camera.
Our walks are mainly based on proven routes in Ambleside and Keswick and take place on most Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Easter through to the middle of October but the program is flexible and as group sizes are always small I'm quite happy to set up a bespoke walk if there is somewhere that particularly grabs your interest.

Anyone who wants to improve their landscape photography.
All our walks are timed so that they finish just after Sunset so the start time will vary. We can't guarantee you a sunset on every walk but if the weather is kind we should be in the right place at the right time. Please check the start time for the date you wish to attend.
Each walk is limited to six participants. This to ensure that we there is adequate time for everyone to get the images they want and so that we can form a cohesive group. Non photographer partners are welcome to accompany us.
Footwear - it needs to be sturdy and waterproof. We reserve the right to refuse to take anyone with unsuitable footwear. We're never far from our starting point so it's up to you what clothing you bring along but this is the Lake District so a waterproof jacket is advised.
All you really need is your camera, but if you have additional lenses, a tripod, filters etc., feel free to bring them along too.
£25 per person. We don't make a charge for non photographer partners.
Booking is advisable as these walks can be popular but you are also welcome to just turn up and take a chance.
If the weather is not really suitable (it can happen) you are welcome to change to a different date or we'll give you a full refund, no questions asked. We ask for a mobile number at the time of booking so we can keep you updated.
